 Our Mission and History

World Ministries Outreach to Children Project is a faith based, 501c3 organization whose mission is to express the love of God in a tangible way. We strive to eliminate the barriers children must overcome in order to become healthy, independent, happy adults. In place of barriers to success such as poverty, hunger and lack of education, we support, accept, love and teach those who desire to accomplish their dreams.

What we do.

These tangible expressions include collecting and delivering food to financially challenged families and individuals who cannot utilize normal resources to provide for their needs.  The ministry accepts donations from the public and other agencies and distributes these donations, at no cost, to individuals and families. The goods distributed include clothing, furniture, housewares, appliances, vehicles, construction and home repair supplies.

The Outreach to Children Project works with at risk children and youth. Our neighborhood outreach center in Tucson provides access to educational assistance to help reach educational goals and assist students who are working to graduate from high school; progressing on to higher education if desired. Language tutoring is available to children and their families to promote educational and vocational success. Daily play and learning activities and exposure to positive adult role models, individual mentoring, crisis intervention as well as a distribution ministry function from this outreach center. The OTC Project also provides assistance referrals, job training and placement referrals and works with Pima County One Stop for job training and placement.

Spiritual and emotional barriers to success are many times more difficult to overcome than physical circumstances. The OTC Project works with children and their families to bring about healthy relationships and emotional healing. Accepting and receiving forgiveness is a prominent theme in the lessons taught that transcends throughout the different outreaches. Substance abuse counseling and agency referrals accompany the spiritual support and training the OTC Project offers. Assistance to families affected by the trauma and neglect resulting from addictive behavior, crime and abuse is available.
